With your help on Election Day and in the weeks and months prior, the Lopez for Senate team grew from a small grassroots network of close family and friends to become the strongest local campaign operation in the state of Delaware. Our margins of victory in both the September primary and the November election were proof of that. While I was humbled to be the candidate and am honored today to be your new State Senator, none of this would have been possible without the tremendous efforts of so many volunteers and supporters, here in the Cape Region and around Delaware. Our campaign proved that with a positive message and a great organization, victory is attainable even in a district created specifically for a member of the other party. My friends, we demonstrated that true support comes from the ground up not the top down and we made the case for fiscal stewardship, accountability and transparency in state government.
